BOSTON, Mass. (October 21, 2009) – The Spirit of the American Cowboy Foundation is proud to announce the creation of  “Team Cowboy Spirit,” a select group of sponsored riders chosen to compete in the New England Wild West Fest and Cape Cod  Stampede’s “Ride4Charity Challenge.”

Unique within the rodeo, the “Ride4Charity Challenge” promotes the Foundation’s mission to help fight childhood cancer. Hailing from as far away as Texas and south as Louisiana, the SACF has amassed a team of talented riders fit for the competition. Members include bull riders Garret Curland, Jacob Rassau, and Wesley Goncalves, with bareback riders Matt Crumpler and Scotty NeSmith, and bronc rider Justin Browning bucking for eight.

As the faces of “Team Cowboy Spirit,” look for video clips, interviews, press releases, circuit standings, injury reports, and the rodeo schedules of each rider to be posted regularly with up to the minute coverage. In addition, riders will be listed on a page within the Cowboy Spirit website with a photo and bio, as well as endorsed on SACF media outlets including Facebook and MySpace, etc.

A special group of men with their mind on the game, spurs in the air, and heart rigged to the cause, the SACF is thrilled to have them bustin’ from our chutes.

For more information on the team and the Spirit of the American Cowboy Foundation, please contact Nicole at Nicole@CowboySpirit.org.

Dates for the 2010 New England Wild West Fest are June 26th-27th. The Cape Cod Stampede will be held August 14th-15th at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds.

About the SACF: The Spirit of the American Cowboy Foundation is a Boston, MA-based, non-profit charitable organization dedicated to raising money for children’s cancer research by showcasing the sport of rodeo and promoting the Western lifestyle. The Foundation’s primary beneficiary is the Jimmy Fund/Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
